Description:

A very rare console built by EMI for their studios around the World. Regarded as a super classic console with sky high price tags when on the market.

I was lucky enough to use Mike Hedges' TG when it was installed in his studio in Normandy, I went over a few times to engineer some sessions. The first time, we put a tape on, and I worked my way across the desk, lifting the locking toggles into place and turning up the knobs to activate the limiter that was on each channel. It sounded amazing, very Beatles/Floyd! At the end of the first pass, with all the limiters doing the bizz, I stopped the tape, and there was a rapid sshhhshshshsSHSHSHSHSHSSHHHH as the noise floor returned from all the limiting! Had an amazing Siemens patchbay too, with big bakelite three-pin plugs - no crackles there! The desk's build quality was stunning, totally military spec, proper old kit.
