The year 2000 has been a great year for Steve. His engineering credit on the new world wide smash Limp Bizkit album is the only credit for a UK/European Engineer. In the last two months Steve has recorded and mixed the critically acclaimed album by Lemon Jelly for XL Recordings. Steve engineered and mixed the new album by McAlmont for Hut records which is due for release later this year. Other projects for release Autumn 2000 and Spring 2001 include Marlena for V2 Records, Lyric and Rod Stewart for WEA Records. He has also mixed two tracks for the current Wu Tan Clan album.

Steve 'Barney' Chase is a name familiar to a host of top producers including Phil Ramone, Anne Dudley, Cameron MacVey, and Raz who have used his all round recording, pro tools and mixing skills to mix hits for acts as diverse as Gabrielle, E17, Deetaah and Elton John. Barney mixed the The Honeyz smash hit album "Wonder Number 8" and five tracks from the Des'ree album "Supernatural" which was a huge success in USA and Europe. He has mixed singles that have enjoyed major airplay and commercial success, including the hit singles by Cleopatra "Cleopatras Theme"(number 3 in charts) and "Life Ain't Easy" (number 4 in charts), and Shola Ama "Need Somebody".

This year Steve has also been writing/recording for film and TV. He mixed the Olympic 2000 theme used by the BBC as background music on all BBC Olympics footage and composed/recorded/mixed several tracks for the Lonely Planet Series.

Steve was engineering for artist luminaries like Tears for Fears (Woman in Chains, Sowing the Seeds), Eric Clapton (various including Journeyman album), Oleta Adams including the hit single " Get here" and Phil Collins from age 19 at Richard Branson's The Townhouse Studios where he was the chief engineer for several years.

Steve has his own studio in Fulham which has state of the art Pro Tools Rig and classic analogue valve equipment including an Amek Angela desk on which he records and mixes a lot of his projects. This was also the venue where Barney engineered Pete Tong's essential selection from 1993-1999.
