George Atkins founded 80 Hertz Studios in 2005 and the 80 Hertz studio complex is based over two floors with 2,600 square feet space. There's 7 air conditioned media production rooms that connect to three recording booths & the scoring stage/live space (1000 sq ft | 28ft tall). The large format 7.1 dubbing theatre provides space to mix for re recording, FX, dialogue & foley engineers. This room is accompanied by a 5 person recording booth, allowing for world class voice recording & ADR and is equipped with powerful Pro Tools HD & Final Cut Pro systems.
Studio owner and engineer George Atkins has built a solid client base gaining an impressive CV as a producer & recording engineer and has worked with major artsits like Lily Allen, Wiley & The Corteeners to new and dynamic indy signings including Rae Morris, Patterns, Stealing Sheep & Paul Thomas Saunders.
Russell Cottier visited with the cameras recently to record this interview with George while taking a break from recording Dominik Johnson who was in the studio recording some interesting instruments for a film soundtrack. After we recorded the interview we popped in to the studio area to discuss microphone placement techniques and that video is here.

George believes musicians, engineers & producers ideally want to work in rooms full of instruments, with characterful analogue outboard twinned with the connivence of digital gear, where everything is hooked up all the time enabling ideas to come to fruition very quickly. This is how inspired records come about.
