Rick Nowels in conversation with George Shilling at Soho Studios, London

Rick Nowels, legendary producer of Madonna, Mel C and many other great artists talked with George Shilling during a short break in the studio in 2001. The interview was used by Studio Sound magazine.

Rick is an exceptional producer / songwriter who divides his time between London and L.A. His talent as a Producer is working with vocalists, providing them with a creative environment in which to fully flower. As a songwriter, the vibrant quality of his hits speak for themselves and his client list is a ‘Who’s Who’ of the worlds biggest selling artists.

Recently he has co-written and co-produced the No 1 UK Ronan Keating single ‘Life Is A Rollercoaster’ and co-wrote the world-wide New Radicals smash ‘You Get What You Give’. He has also has co-written and produced the forthcoming Melanie C single ‘I Turn To You’ which follows her recent smash single and album title track ‘Northern Star’ which he co-wrote and produced. He has also written Sonique’s next single ‘Sky’ , has tracks on the forthcoming Texas album and has written Amber’s ‘Sexual’. Rick has produced tracks on Dido’s (from Faithless) album including the single ‘Here With Me’. He has also co-written and produced with k.d Lang for her new album plus the theme song for the new Susan Sarandon movie ‘Anywhere But Here’.

He is currently writing and producing tracks for Geri Halliwell, Stevie Nicks, Connor Reeves, Sony Sweden’s Jennie Lofgren, BMG’s Italian mega-star Eros Ramazotti and ex-Sneakerpimps lead singer Kelli Ali.

In the recent past he had 3 co-writes with Madonna on her Grammy winning ‘Ray Of Light’ album (including the world-wide smash hit ‘Power Of Goodbye’), he wrote and produced tracks on the Brit Award winning Des’ree hit ‘Supernatural’ album and Mathew Marsden’s UK Top Ten hit ‘The Hearts Lone Desire’. He has tracks on the Brit winning 9 x UK platinum ‘Talk On Corners’ album by The Corrs. He wrote and produced the Grammy winning single and title track for Celine Dion’s 25 million selling album ‘Falling Into You’, Robert Miles’s (feat. Maria Naylor) Europe wide #1 smash hit ‘One On One’.and the Grammy nominated 'Body and Soul' for Anita Baker’s #1 album, 'The Rhythm Of Life' which received the Soul Train ‘Song of the Year’ award and an American Music Award Nomination.
