Sound - special archive video tour of the studios
SAHARA SOUND HAS NOW CLOSED
2004 saw the official launch of Sahara Sound,
London's newest SSL K Series studio!
Sahara
Sound is London’s newest independent music production
facility. Based in Fulham, and previously known as Bunk,
Junk and Genius (BJG), the studio was taken over last
year by Al Zawawi, working with business partner Daniel
Robert with Dave Tyler taking on the role of Studio
Manager (now left Sahara).
The
studio has recently undergone a major refurbishment
programme overseen by Neil Grantand is now available
for bookings.
The
facility is home to a new 80-channel SSL K 9000 XL console,
complemented by Dynaudio main monitoring, Apple computers
by the boat load, a separate 5.1 system and a full range
of vintage and the latest effects, processing and mastering
outboard. Sahara Sound has three studios. Studio 1 is
the newly refurbished mix room and is available on a
commercial basis. Studio 2 is home to 360 Mastering,
an independent
mastering company run by Dick Beetham. 360 Mastering
can be contacted on +44 (0)20 7385 6161. Studio 3 is
a private writing and programming room but is occasionally
made available on a commercial basis to exclusive clients
when Al is working away from the studio...
We
would like to thank all at the Sahara
Sound for taking so much time out and for being
such a help in producing this video feature!
