Studio Two at Air Recording Studios, London
Air recording studios are one of the world's very best recording studios for every kind of music recording, orchestral, pop, rock and post production.
We are huge fans of Air Studios. The staff are very friendly, the food is great. The studios are excellent, they're comfortable, they sound great and the results are top class. You have to think hard about where else you can go to find anything better, anywhere in the World.
At Air Studios you know that you'll get the job done and enjoy your time recording and mixing. From the moment you walk in and are greeted by Glen or Maria, you realise that yes, this is an expensive studio but it's how all studios should be. Talking of money, we think it's stunning value and really, even if you're a band without a 'deal' you can still scrape enough for a day or two, and while that may mean you're not going to be doing a 'Dark Side of the Moon' why not record a live studio album?
Air is one of the only places that you can see the biggest names in Pop or Rock working alongside the orchestra recording the next Bond movie. There's no snobbery, just warm enthusiastic people that are really in to recording music and making great records. Rather than wasting weeks in a dingy studio, save your time and take your record to the next level. Honestly, you'll save money in the long run and you will have a record to be proud of too. We try to be impartial and not favour one studio over another but Air has a special place in our hearts.
Air Studios are surely one of the top five recording studios anywhere in the World. Superb recording environments range from the Hall (pictured above) suitable for any orchestral session to the coolest Studio One with its classic custom Neve through to the stunning SSL mix room. Upstairs there are a number of post production studios with Foley and a series of producer rooms.
The thing that makes Air so great isn't the gear, it's the building and the staff. Maybe the most important thing and the thing that makes Air feel so special is it's history having been the brain child of the World's most famous producer, Sir George Martin. Read the George Martin interview.
Air moved from their original Oxford Street location to the new Hampstead complex at the beginning of the '90's. Find out more about these fantastic recording studios by reading Sir George Martin's interview here. Heavily involved in the design and building of the new studio facility, Sir George Martin opened AIR Lyndhurst in December 1992 with a gala performance of Under Milk Wood in the presence of HRH The Prince of Wales. Since that date AIR Lyndhurst has established itself as Britain's premier scoring facility attracting some of the world's biggest movies scores as well as maintaining its popularity with major classical labels, high profile recording artists and incorporating TV postproduction facilities to rival those in the West End.
